NRL Coach Standings

Which coaches are sweating their positions?

Bulldogs: Potter won a Dally M Player of the Year award and Grand Final with the Bulldogs. He has little chance of displacing current boss Kevin Moore, but there may be some role available.

Dragons: No chance of the top spot and Brown would be favourite to take any assistant role to become available.

Raiders: Zero chance of anyone shifting Furner for a long time.

Broncos: Have to be worth asking the question. Current coach Ivan Henjak has even received the full support of the board. We know what that means.

Knights: Rick Stone has waited a long time at Newcastle and the Knights are likely to give him a while to develop his own team.

Cowboys: The pressure builds on Neil Henry. He'd have to be one of the coaches favoured for the chop.

Panthers: A key season for Matt Elliot at Penrith. Miss the finals and he'll have to find another job, give them a shake and he could be there for a while.

Storm: At the start of the season, and even now, you'd say there is no chance of dislodging Craig Bellamy. But if revelations force the club's hand for a completely new set-up, who's to honestly say it couldn't happen.

Rabbitohs: John Lang fell into the role after Jason Taylor fell down the stairs. Rusty and Co may prefer to get someone in who has a longer term potential.

Eels: Daniel Anderson has won himself plenty of time with last year's Grand Final.

Sea Eagles: Can't see anyone moving Des until Des decides he had enough.

Sharks: That is a different story on the other beach. The mail is strong that Stuart won't be there next year, and given the fact that there could be little else available, even coaching the Sharks becomes attractive.

Roosters: An assistant coaches role to Brian Smith could be good option with a pathway to the top job defined (surely Smith can't coach forever). And Smith's mentoring is highly thought of.

Titans: John Cartwright could well be on the Gold Coast as long as Wayne Bennett was in Brisbane. A snow's flakes chance in hell.

Warriors: Ivan Cleary must be getting very nervous, especially if the rumours of former Kiwi coach Brian McClennan heading south are true.

Tigers: Should the Tigers fail to make the finals this season, then surely it's time for a change in Tiger town. That said, with Royce Simmons and Steve Folkes already in the queue, it looks a bit congested. Folkes himself might fancy getting out of the weights room and back into coaching in the UK.

Hen Weekends - Some incredible Hen Weekend Ideas

Hen weekends hold the same sentiments and importance as marriage. Like marriages, this weekend also comes once in a lifetime for a would-be-bride. This article aims to help you make your special weekend entertaining and joyous.

Exclusive Spas

You can start your hen weekend with pampering yourself at one of the most exclusive spas in your city. This will help you and your female group to relax in the steam room and detoxify your mind and body. Take a full package that includes head and body massage, facials, pedicures, and manicures. If you have plans to go in for a popular hen destination, make bookings in advance for a beautiful spa amidst natural surroundings. London and Brighton are two main hen party destinations.

Cookery classes

One of the unique hen weekend ideas is to arrange for cookery classes where you also have an option to dine in for lunch or dinner. There are many elite hotels that make arrangements for luxurious accommodations and delectable meals in addition to these cookery classes. You can make bookings with such hotels and make your weekend full of taste and luxury. These cooking classes give you a chance to see cooking demonstrations. You also get an opportunity to try your hands on your favorite dishes.

Other activities

Horse races and chocolate tours are also good ways to celebrate hen weekends. Ideas such as champagne tasting tours and musical tours are also excellent, when it comes to enjoying hen weekends. About Fulcrum

Toyota has Scion, Honda has Acura, Nissan has Infiniti, and Campagnolo has Fulcrum. That's right folks, Fulcrum is a division of Campy. Why? Why not! If you had a cycling company and you knew how to make a superior set of wheels, but you also knew the riders were playing matchy match with their components most likely wouldn't put Campy wheels on a primarily Shimano bike, wouldn't you make a new company? We would! So if you were wondering how Fulcrum came up from nowhere and got worldwide attention on the pro circuit, it's because Campy used their connections to get up and running, and into the heat of the race. Yes sir, that's why the 2004 and 2005 pro teams actually used the Fulcrum wheels without years of being on the market. Pretty smart move if you ask us.

The launch of Fulcrum in July of 2004 was a testimony of passion for the sport of cycling. At the front of the company were three aerospace engineers who had applied their specialized knowledge of aero space technology to the advancement of their favorite sport. Since the beginning, Fulcrum Wheels have proven their superiority on the road. They are designed and developed with underlying elements of Campagnolo, technological advancements of the aerospace industry and they have a pleasantly youthful Fulcrum twist.

With revolutionary concepts in wheel development and design, Fulcrum Wheels boast a perfectly balance wheel. To get that perfect balance they have patents! That's why there are trademarks all over this article. Fulcrum was big on trademarks and patents like Dynamic BalanceTM, 2:1 Two-to-oneTM, and the MoMagTM system.

When you push your pedals, the rotational force on the sprocket produces slack in the freewheel spokes and a loss of rim tension. This results in unwanted flex of the whole wheel and an inevitable loss of energy. Fulcrum has solved this common cycling dilemma with its 2:1 Two-to-OneTM Spoke Ratio system. The 2:1 Two-to-OneTM syst em supports the Dynamic BalanceTM by doubling the spokes in the critical areas. The Dynamic BalanceTM system boasts flawlessly balanced dynamics of rotation, with the credit given to the careful distribution of the rotating masses. The MoMagTM system supports the other two quite well. It actually stemmed from Campy. The MoMagTM system feeds each nipple into the rim through the valve hole, the process is guided perfectly into place with a magnet. Thus the Mag in the name MoMagTM. These three systems work separately or in conjunction with one another and they are what makes Fulcrum the advanced company that it is today.

Another concept in the design of Fulcrum Wheels are the aluminum hammer head spokes which have a unique aerodynamic profile comprised of a variable truncated-cone cross-section. The rims on the Fulcrum Wheels are CNC machined which help to relieve the rim area of pointless load points. CNC machining allows the wheels to have no spoke holes on the inner groove which eliminates the need for rim tape and provides maximum torsional stiffness. Yeah, these are some serious wheels.

Fulcrum Wheels come in several models. Numbered relatively consecutively, for continuity we suppose. Although you will notice they left out the even numbers. The Racing Zeros are excellent for racing. They provide superior acceleration, are very light, have rockin' aerodynamics and roll like you're riding on air. Plus, they are super sharp looking. The Racing 1's are great for racing as well as daily rides. They are fast, stiff, smooth as well as very compliant and comfortable. They are sure to dramatically improve the handling and look of your bike. As was mentioned earlier, Fulcrum skipped over all the even numbers and went right to the Racing 3's. Racing 3 wheels are intermediate hoops. They are very durable, quiet riding and longer lasting than most wheels on the market. They are also notably faster.

You will notice that you will gain speed quicker and will be able to hold it easily. They are also quite high on the bling scale. For the real heavy duty rides, or for consistent training, go for the Racing 5 model. They are durable, quiet and very long lasting. The Racing 5 Evolution wheels boast the Dynamic Balance system with two, oversized (silver) spokes to offset the rim joint for a perfectly balanced wheel. They are said to be stiff, smooth, true, and durable. They aren't the lightest wheel in the Fulcrum line, but they aren't THAT heavy either. The Racing 7's are more of a beginner's wheel. They are strong, stiff, a decent weight and come in racing red. At the very top of the line are Fulcrum's Racing Light Wheels. These wheels are Fulcrum's version of Campy's Hyperon but without the carbon bodied hugs. The Racing Light's are on a entirely different level and have earned the status as well as the price. They are one of the best all round wheels you will ever ride on. Very fast, very strong and yes, you can climb in a cog or two lower than normal. Phenomenal for climbing but also great on the flats.

All in all, the Fulcrum label has become synonymous with unique patents, constant technological research and eye-catching modern design. They are producing some seriously competitive hoops. Needless to say, Fulcrum is everything you would expect a Campy spawn to be.

A brief idea about the third ICC T20 World Cup

ICC T20 World Cup has become one of the most popular events in whole world. West Indies is hosting the 3rd ICC T20 (Twenty 20) tournament. It is organized by International Cricket Council, which is the the governing body of international cricket .The tournament is scheduled to start from 30th April, 2010 and end on 16th May, 2010.

Tournament schedule

Twelve teams (representing 12 countries) will be participating in third ICC T20 World Cup. These 12 teams have been divided into 4 groups. The first match will be played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka on April 30, 2010. There will be a total of 27 matches played at Guyana, Barbados and St. Lucia. The semi final matches will be played on 13th and 14th May, 2010 at Beausejour Stadium and the final match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown on 16th May, 2010.

Rules and regulations

During the group and the Super Eight stage, the teams will get 2 points for winning a match; the losing team will get 0 point. 1 point will be awarded to each of the 2 teams if there is no result of that specific match. This happens in case of a tie that is, both the teams scoring same number of runs at the end of their respective innings and a super over. Super over will be played in all stages of the cricket tournament in care of a tie.

Ranking of teams

In ICC T20 World Cup, the teams (within each group and Super Eight stage) will be ranked on higher number of points. If 2 or more teams get same points, then the team winning more matches will be preferred. The next deciding factor will be higher net run rate if the number of games they win are also equal. If it is also same, then the lower bowling strike rate will be the deciding factor. There's another step if it also cannot decide who'll secure the higher position. A head to head meeting will decide the ranking of the teams in the 5th and last step.

The ICC T20 World Cup usually takes place after every 2 years. However, the third T20 World Cup is taking place 10 months after the previous tournament. The International cricket Council has taken this decision in order to avoid the staging of two major events in 2011, as the 50-over World Cup is taking place at South Africa in 2011.

Progressive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: The Most Frequent Jiu Jitsu Mistake (And How To Fix It!)

You train jiu jitsu like an animal. You pay attention in class. You go hard during live training. But for some reason your guard gets passed like a hot knife through butter, and your submissions just don't lock in. Frustrating, isn't it?

I have the solution: move your hips!

Hip movement is the foundation upon which jiu jitsu is built. Moving your hips is critical for almost everything you do in jiu jitsu - getting under your opponent to destabilize him, establishing distance when your guard is being passed, reaching up to lock in an arm bar or triangle. If your hips don't move, all of these options just go away.

Learning to use your hips correctly should be a central focus while you practice jiu jitsu. The hips are critical to getting you out of trouble via a defensive move, as well as to your finishing out a match with a lethal hold. Just remember the importance of active hips! Sometimes your active hips may cause you to make a mistake, but don't worry about it. Learning how to employ your hips correctly requires constant repetition in training.

A great way to get used to the feeling of using your hips is to do solo jiu jitsu drills and a great one is shrimping. Get in the habit doing these shrimp escape moves whenever you have a chance to practice alone, and eventually they will become second nature. Be sure to get all the way onto your side and move those hips as far out as you can. Once you are practicing with a partner, you will automatically start to make use of your hips.

Some people are able to learn the correct hip action immediately, but others must work at it- so don't get discouraged if it takes awhile. If you put the effort in, eventually you will master it!

Beginning Jiu Jitsu: Protect Your Guard

There are a lot of suggestions out there telling you how to defend your guard. Some of these are: do not allow the other fighter to get a hold of your knees, find an angle, or drive your legs to the ground. However, there is one suggestion that I often see novices failing to do. Head control is critical in retaining guard.

Here is why: when the other fighter passes, his head is probably going to fall to one side, and his hips will follow in order to attempt side control. If your opponent is intelligent, he will gain control of your legs or hips to keep you from getting out. However, if you are able to take control of his advance, you won't even let him pass at all.

As your opponent starts passing to the right, push his head in that same direction. That will both create a large amount of space between you but also not allow him to progress into side control. You don't have to be rough and go MMA on him, but you can be firm with a palm to the cheek or a forearm t o the neck.

When you shove his head, shrimp out toward the left. Your hips and your legs are going to do most of the work here; shoving your opponent's head is just about controlling him long enough for you to get out. Once you get enough room, find your center and get your opponent in your guard again. You might have to shrimp out more than one time if he is making good progress and controlling your hips and/or legs. Make sure you are prepared for his moves and react properly.

Remember that learning all of these little jiu jitsu tricks takes time and you have to patiently learn them and apply them. You won't become an expert overnight, but you will get better! Practice them, get good at them, and consider it one more tool in your BJJ belt of goodies.

Sport Equipment Mini DV MD91 Discussion

Well, I'm about to enter the realm of fatherhood in the next 2-4 weeks (I guess technically I've been a father for the past 8 months, just not very involved). Anyway, the best part is that I get to buy some new electronics. Specifically, a digital camcorder. So, help me out guys. What should I get? I haven't really figured out a budget yet, but I don't need a professional camcorder. We're probably talking hundreds of dollars instead of thousands. I want to get something that is a good value and uses a technology that will be around for a while. As far as brands, I know Sony is supposedly the best.digital camcorder?? can you specific it?? MIni DV or normal DC? It depends on personal hobby. DC, i think canon DV is nice choice, also aee md91 (seems to the only brand mini dv) is a fine choice. Well I've tried them on my own, believe me. And the mini dv md91 is really funny, if you're interested in sports.. It is a great mini digital recorder for outdoor.. And sale promotion is on espow at now until June 25. Read more at: http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/p/9911/361679.aspx

I've seen tons of consumer-grade VHS converters at the big box stores. But I'm curious about the professional grade high-speed digitizers. I've seen decks with both VHS and mini-DV bays but I don't even know what to call them to do a search, much less what models to look at. Though i've never heard about Tape Type MiniDV, i think it's really complicated and not easy to repair it.. It's been reported that only old type camcorder mini dv can connect to pc with firewire port.. really amazing. "On the bottom side of the case where the reel hubs are, towards the back and in the middle is a slot with a movable lever inside the slot". However, more and more digital mini dv md91 or high-end mini DVs have come to our life.. Hmmm, what attracts me most is it's portable and well design, nice gadget!!

Sportsbetting Offers All Kinds Of Ways To Win

For instance, one method of sportsbetting is called a parlay, and parlays can work for basketball or football. Parlay payouts and accompanying odds are usually listed in a table, with the odds of winning decreasing the more bets one places, because except for progressive parlays, a bettor must be successful in all bets he places in order to win. Parlays are common for basketball and football betting, as well as other sports. Similarly, there are also second-chance parlays, wherein the house may forgive some losses, but might not pay out the same in the event of wins.

Another type of wager common to sportsbetting for all types of sports is the proposition bet. Propositions are more particular than the normal bet that one team will win or lose; primarily, the bet will concern actual scores or players. For example, a proposition bet in the case of basketball betting might suppose that LeBron James will score 30 points in the second half and win the game for his team. Propositional odds are often variable because of their usual lack of a binary outcome, and because there might not always be a counter-bettor in the event of a loss.

Some kinds of wagers in
Sportsbetting are considered future bets, wherein the bettor places money on future outcomes of future games. One could argue that all wagers are future wagers, but the difference is that future bets are usually made before the season starts. This makes future bets appropriate for basketball and football betting, as well as hockey, soccer, even the Olympics.

Football and basketball betting are probably the most popular sport bets, but betting through an online sports book separates the common handshake bets from the professionals who are not afraid to play with serious money. Bookmaking is frowned upon by most states, but the internet presents more opportunities for those looking to gamble on sports. With all the many different types of wagers available, such as the small sample presented above, there is a wager type available for fans of all kinds of sports.

Progressive Jiu Jitsu: It's All About the Basics!

As you'll quickly find in your jiu jitsu training, the amount of techniques and situations you have to process is overwhelming. People are getting you in bad positions and you are stuck and unable to get out - eventually leading to submission.

Don't worry, you can survive!

The neat thing about jiu jitsu is that it is a great equalizer. The big and strong may actually be at a disadvantage against a skilled jiu jitsu practitioner. The question is how do you last long enough to become skilled.

In a word, basics. If you become a master at just the jiu jitsu basics, you can generally prevent yourself from getting in bad positions and are able to handle yourself if you happen to end up in one. Practice these at home by yourself, and keep them in mind during your classroom training to apply them there as well. After a few weeks you'll have a basic skill level that'll really allow you to focus on learning and ap plying your techniques instead of a panicked defense.

So what are the basics?

Hip Escapes
On the technique side, this is the grand daddy of jiu jitsu basics. During training you should always have "loose hips". Being able to transition from side to side and use your hips for generating leverage is CRITICAL. This cannot be said enough times. Being able to hip escape (aka shrimping) is important in creating space between you and your opponent for defense and attacks.

Breathing
A not-so-obvious basic you need to get down is breathing. If you gas out in training or a real life fight, you are dead. It's important to know that you CAN relax, and that you need to slow down and breathe. If you treat rolling/sparring as a sprint, in 30 seconds you will be dead. And considering a typical round is 5-7 minutes long, that would be painful! So slow down, take a deep breath, and relax.

Open Mind
Many people come to train thinking that their strength is going to get them through whatever challenge they face. And just as quickly they are proven wrong by some 120 pound-when-soaking-wet kid with a bit of experience. To learn the fastest, open your mind to a new way of doing things. Learn and use the techniques properly and without strength. Accept that you are going to have a learning curve and don't try to power your way through things.

Ego
Most BJJ practitioners are men and as such have nice sized egos. Leave the ego at the door. You have to enjoy the journey of learning BJJ and understanding all of the nuances. If you HAVE to be the guy that never taps, you are going to get hurt early and often. And if you are hurt, you really can't train then. Instead, be open to losing to others in your class. Help each other get better. Become a family. Enjoy the journey!

The basics above are by no means a complete l ist of everything you need to master. But they are a good start for your journey. Walk into class eager to learn, help your classmates, and train hard. This is an amazing martial art and it will change your life if you let it.

Cheap and Fun Activities That You Can Do On the Beach

Summer is the best time to go to the beach. A glass of your favorite cocktail together with a natural tan beats that summer heat. The beach is also a perfect escape from the pressure of the metro, providing a sanctuary of leisure that soothes your mind. A lot of amusing and hearty activities can also be done during your stay on the beach. Listed are some activities you can splurge on during your vacation.

Take a plunge and swim! The beach is the best place for swimming. Economical and healthy are the two benefits of taking a few laps to sea.

Wake boarding and surfing are both exciting and breathe taking activities that is intended for those who seek thrill and pleasure under the sun. However, this is not for those who are meek. A good sense of balance and expertise is involved when riding the raging waves. For those who have tried but failed, do not be ashamed for tumbling down. The main thing is that you are courageous enough to try it and enjoyed while doing it. These are not trouble-free activities as compared to viewing Joomla tutorial videos on the net.

Some people crave for underwater adventure and these two activities would satisfy that hunger. The most inexpensive would be snorkeling. A pair of goggles and a boat ride to the nearest coral reef is all that it takes to be part of the marine world. If you are not low on dough, scuba diving is definitely the option for you. Depending on your dive spot, prices would range from US$ 250-500. See and feel how it is really like to swim with the fishes. However, you must be a licensed scuba diver before you can try this. Majority of the resorts offer scuba diving lessons and certification so you will not have any trouble looking for one. Scuba diving instructors are licensed by PADI or NAUI and they are trained in this craft. Upon completion of your diving lessons a card would be given to you as proof that you have already completed the course. Always bring your card with you every time you will go diving.

If you prefer to enjoy your holiday without getting wet, you could always settle for beach volleyball. Display your awesome spikes and deep dives while conquering the summer's heat. Another fun activity that requires you to be dry would be Frisbee. It is less physical than volleyball. If your purpose is just to unwind and relax while you are on the beach, you can always go for a calming massage at the beach spa. Your favorite beach hotels would have this amenity just for you. Some would also provide an option for a massage on the beach front where you can enjoy the scenery while being pampered like a queen.

There are a lot more things that you can do while you are on the beach. Just make sure that whatever activity that you are interested in can be found on the beach that you are heading to. Any activity that you will chose would be fine as long as you will have fun doing it.

Rotorua - New Zealand's Warmest Welcome

New Zealand is a country rich in natural beauty and dramatic contrasting landscapes. Nowhere however, is the quirkiness of Nature more prevalent than in the North Island spa city of Rotorua. In New Zealand, walking holidays will take you through a range of vastly different experiences: from windswept beaches and rugged coastlines; to hiking through the lush, verdant forests of the mountainous hinterland. But Rotorua has a unique attraction which lures thousands of visitors every year to experience the strange phenomenon of the thermal mud pools.

Rotorua is not exactly sleepy, but in terms of cities it is pretty laid back. In keeping with New Zealand's friendly and welcoming culture, Rotorua is easy to navigate but still offers a huge range of activities for visitors of all ages and abilities. In New Zealand, walking tr ails criss-cross virtually every part of the country and Rotorua is no different, with many forest trails emanating from close to the city centre. But, aside from the wonderful lakes, walking, biking and fishing, most people come to Rotorua for the apparent healing properties it offers, or simply the curiosity value, of the thermal mud pools.

There are many places around the city to see instances of the thermal pools and indeed, their existence is ever-present in the sulphurous odour that cloaks the city. The smell is slightly unpleasant at first, but within a few hours of arriving in what is teasingly known as the smelliest city in New Zealand, walking around the thermal pools will keep you so fascinated, you will not smell a thing!

Relics from Rotorua's volcanic origins, the thermal pools and geysers originated from the beautiful Lake Rotorua, and the lake's tranquil guise belies a violent and dramatic past. Everywhere, in this part of New Zealand, walking even in the city's parks and gardens, you will see random tell-tale plumes of steam rising from open pools and sulphur vents. There is no danger from these pools but do beware - they are hot!

A visit to the Whakarewarewa village on the outskirts of Rotorua will bring you to one of the most fascinating places in New Zealand. Walking through the village, which subsists entirely by harnessing the power of the incredible thermal activity, is one of the most fascinating examples of Nature's power, you will ever see. The village, whilst a burgeoning tourist attraction is a living and working village and the traditional Maori residents live a communal existence in harmony with the majestic force which sustains them.

For a slightly more indulgent way to enjoy the thermal pools, you can head to one of Rotorua's many indoor mineral pools or spas. Spend a day luxuriating in the waters which are reputed to have some amazing health benefits and have, in fact, been used for many y ears by medical practitioners to assist in some alternative therapies. The Rotorua Bath house, although now a museum, is a fascinating place to visit. In years gone by, the Bath House administered over seventy thousand baths a year and thirty thousand special therapies including, scarily, electric therapy! There's none of that these days however, and the only shock you will get in any of Rotorua's thermal spas or baths is how hard it will be to climb out, dry off and get back to reality.

You should not deviate from your plan until your reach your goal. And you MUST WRITE YOUR PLAN DOWN! Trust me on this.

For many jiu jitsu students, the plan is to "get good at guard" or "get good at submissions". While this is a good start, you have to drill down and be much more specific. Your goal should be "Land a bump sweep on every rolling partner" or "Be able to hold side control for 15 seconds on anyone". You will be able to measure your success and take actions toward meeting the goals. By setting small goals, you'll quickly be able to reach your larger goals.

It's time to mentally enter the BJJ arena. Develop a plan, a plan just for you, and work to meet your goals. Start every class reminding yourself of your personal goal and make it happen. You are not going to be better instantaneously, and patience will still be required, however you will get there! After you attain a few of your smaller goals, you will recognize your success and you will ask yourself why you didn't start doing this sooner.

Optimal Fueling for Fitness

Your body is the engine to your bike. Just like you fuel your car's engine, you need to fuel your body with good stuff so it holds up to your expectations. But fueling your body is not as simple as choosing Regular or Premium. Before, during and after the ride, you have to choose specific nutrients that will help, rather than hinder, your performance.

Before you hop on the bicycle, stay away from heavy, high-fat foods. Put down the drive thru breakfast burrito and choose a meal with a prime balance between complex carbohydrates and protein. So frequently we are all pressed for time on our way to our ride. Your best bet is to plan ahead, with a light breakfast. Whole Grain Cereal with Fruit works perfectly for a pre-ride fuel up. In a pinch, an energy bar will work, but if you rely on this quick fix frequently your training will suffer.

Hydration is also very important before you start your ride. Water, water, water! Always drink plenty of water to hyd rate you. There are many energy drinks that are designed to increase hydration but beware of the sugars that many of these drinks have. Read your labels before putting a ton of sugar in your body. Yes, the sugar will give you energy, but it will also pull you down just as fast. Avoid coffee and tea too. They contain caffeine which acts as a natural diuretic that will surely dehydrate you.

During the ride you will need to fuel up frequently. It's a well known fact that carbohydrates are the best food to sustain high levels of energy on the road. Stay away from simple sugars that you'll find in candy bars. That fuel has no nutritional value and will burn off quickly, leaving you tired and taxed in no time at all. We're trying to avoid the "Bonk" here people! There are many varieties of energy bars to choose from and you don't need to hit a health food store to get them. Yes, a health food store has plenty of variety, but a decent selection of the most popular bars can be found at a grocery store or Walmart.

The reason you will need to refuel often during a ride is that your body only stores two hours of glycogen at a time. Glycogen is muscle fuel and it is what keeps you riding. (Well, Glycogen and Passion.) Be sure to refuel your Glycogen every 30 to 45 minutes while you're riding intensely. Luckily energy bars are easy to unwrap and eat while riding.

If you prefer unprocessed foods, Bananas and Peanut Butter Sandwiches provide excellent fuel without the preservatives. A standard sized Banana provides 105 calories with 27 grams of carbohydrates and 422 mg of potassium. As an added bonus, the potassium will help reduce any leg cramps.

Again, and we can't state this enough, STAY HYDRATED! You will need to drink at least one liter of water (or energy drink) per hour to stay hydrated. If you choose an energy drink, be sure to get one with electrolytes to help replenish important nutrients.

Fueling up after the ride is equally as important as fueling up before and during the ride. This is the time when you need to add some protein to replenish and repair your muscles. Proteins are more important than most athletes realize because the proteins are what help to transport the carbohydrates through your system. Proteins allow your body to heal faster and they help to maintain muscle mass. In fact, when the workout is over and you are looking at your post-bust-your-butt meal, adding protein to your high carb intake will allow those carbs to move more efficiently to the muscles to get them refueled as quickly as possible. In his book Food for Fitness: Eat Right to Train Right Lance Armstrong's trainer Chris Carmichael suggests a ratio of one part protein to seven parts carbohydrate. So a post workout meal of seven parts brown rice to one part chicken (to keep low on the fat) would be prime.

As for how much you should eat, there is no way to advise on the amount of c alories you should have because every athlete is different. Differences in size, shape, intensity of workout and level of fitness determine the caloric intake needed. In fact, even different times of the year call for different training goals, so if you need a specific caloric intake to follow, you will want to consult with a personal trainer.

It goes without saying that how you fuel your body will be reflected in how your body performs. The old adage of "You are what you eat" followed up with "Garbage in, Garbage out" should drive the point home. As an athlete it is crucial that you give your engine the best fuel possible for best results possible. Now get out there and Keep Cycling!

NASCAR Betting – Five To Watch At Darlington

If you're betting Preakness, warm up with a different type of horsepower with the Showtime Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on Saturday night. Darlington's odd layout makes it just as hard on the crew chief as it is on the driver, and experience counts for a lot on the "Lady In Black".

Darlington Betting - Saturday, May 8, 7:30 PM ET

Jeff Gordon (+600): Gordon has seven wins in 29 Darlington races, most recently in 2007. The No.24 driver has finished in the top three in three of his last five races, and he's getting ever so close to breaking a winless streak that has gone on since last year's spring race at Texas. If the team can ever figure out how to work late restarts, the Sprint Cup series could be in trouble.

Jimmie Johnson (+600): If you bet Celtics Cavaliers, it's similar to Johnson vs Gordon: the new dominant force in the sport against the old, although Johnson has more championships than LeBron James, and looking at Boston's Game 2 rout of Cleveland, Gordon isn't rolling over for his protégé. Johnson's 6.9 average in 11 Darlington races is tops in the series, and he finished second in last year's race. Outside of the two restrictor-plate races, Johnson hasn't finished lower than 12th this year.

Mark Martin (+900): The defending champion had a good stretch ended by a 25th-place finish at Richmond last week, and as far as experience goes, Martin has it in spades here with 43 starts, which he has turned into 26 top-10s. Martin is having another inconsistent run up to the Chase, but the No.5 team will hit it right sooner than later.

Greg Biffle (+2000): "The Biffle" offers great NASCAR betting value for players, and he went back-to-back at Darlington in 2005 and 2006. He also led 117 laps en route to an eighth-place run last year, and he's led laps in four of the last five Darlington races.

Juan Pablo Montoya (+2500): Montoya hasn't had nice words for the "Track Too Tough To Tame", and he has yet to break the top 10 in three trips to Darlington. But he's on a bit of a roll with three top-six finishes in his last four starts, and Montoya is too talented of a racecar driver to struggle for much longer. The No.42 team got off to a rough start, but it's turning around.

Pick: How much longer can Jeff Gordon keep coming up short at the end of races? He's led the most laps in the series, more than 300 more than Johnson, who has three wins. But Gordon has too much experience to keep letting these chances slip through his fingers, and if he keeps putting himself in these positions, he'll grab one, and it'll come this week. Go with Jeff Gordon this weekend when betting on sports.

The key lies in the bowling department:

Before the Indian team departed for the West Indies to participate at the World Twenty20, the skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni commented that the bowling department is India's strongest.

The two major bowlers in the DLF IPL, Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha have been left out while Piyush Chawla has been picked in place of them.

Mumbai Indians reached the finals of the DLF IPL and their successful run has to be attributed to the spinner Harbhajan Singh's form. He is the third highest wicket taker in the tournament with 17 scalps from just 15 innings.

The main strike bowler Zaheer Khan participated in 14 games and took 15 wickets. He was the one who held his nerve and bowled brilliantly.

Banglore Royal Challenger's Vinay Kumar was handed his first Indian Cap attributing to his amazing form in the IPL.

He was exceptional in bowling with variation in pace and length. He is the fifth leading wicket taker with 16 scalp s. He led the standing for the first half of the tournament.

His counterpart in the Banglore team, Praveen Kumar was amazing too. He is well known and feared for his in swingers.

Piyush Chawla who got selected ahead of other spinners has to prove his worth. He took 12 wickets in the 14 matches he played.

Ravindra Jadeja and Aashish Nehra missed most of the IPL tournament and they will be fresh.

Mahendra Dhoni will have to use a lot of part time spinners namely Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Suresh Raina.

Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings who won the IPL used Raina as a specialist in breaking partnerships.

Dhoni did not refuse to the strategy of using either Yusuf Pathan or Harbhajan Singh as opening bowlers.

There is some woe in the batting department. Virender Sehwag got injured while Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir are struggling for form. Mahendra Dhoni himself missed quite a lot of games.

If anyone is in top class form, it has to be Raina. The south-paw scored a massive 520 runs in just 16 IPL games with an average over 140.

His Chennai counterpart Murali Vijay raised a few eye brows with his hitting. He scored 450 plus runs in 15 games.

Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma too had some success in the IPL but they lacked consistency.

Yusuf Pathan has an average tournament scoring 333 runs in 14 matches which included a massive century. Nevertheless he has a strike rate of 165.67 which would be useful in this format of the game.

Swimming Headphones Get Better - Bone Conduction Technology Improves

What we think of typically as sound consists of vibrations in the air reaching our ears. But there are a couple of obstacles that get in the way when we want to make headphones that work underwater.

You would think that just using waterproofing material to made a set of ear buds would work. But the way we hear is actually more complicated.

There are two ways in which we hear things in the open air. The main method is that the sound waves in the air vibrate on our eardrums and the inner ear and the brain converts these signals to what we think of as sound. But we also 'feel' the sound wave vibrations in our bones. Especially the bones in our skull. And these also add to the quality of sound we hear.

When we are in the water, the first method of hearing doesn't work very well, if at all. The water in our ears stops the eardrum and inner ear from being able to vibrate the same way it does in the air. If we could keep our inner ear and ear canal dry then we w ould have a way to hear like we do normally. Some swimming headphones use this method with special gaskets that keep all the water out. This is quite effective, but usually a bit cumbersome to wear.

Many waterproof headphone manufacturers use a new upcoming method called bone conduction to enable us to hear while underwater.

Bone conduction technology type swimming headphones can work exceptionally well for listening to music or podcasts while you are in the water. But like all good things, there are still a few problems.

Hearing, either in the air or in the water, through bone conduction is quite a bit less efficient than normal hearing in the air. While bone conduction is still a very workable method of hearing while in the water, there may be problems with getting adequate volume from your waterproof mp3 player.

Many report that they enjoy the ability to use their underwater mp3 player anywhere in or under the water and are happy with the sound qua lity of bone conducting headphones. But there are also some who report that they must have their player at the highest volume which in turn reduces battery time. Since hearing by bone conduction is less efficient, more volume is required.

Bone conduction technology will continue to improve. The selection of products that work very well and give high quality sound is increasing almost daily. And these will undoubtedly improve through time.

By doing some checking and keeping up to date on the latest offerings and models, you'll find that you will be able to find a very affordable and workable solution that will enable you to jump in the pool with your waterproof mp3 player and your swimming headphones blissfully listening to your favorite tunes without giving it a thought.

Martial Arts Grandmaster Introduces News Blog on Martial Arts Events

Carter Hargrave is a well-known name in the field of martial arts, and now has a Martial Arts News Blog "Carter hargrave blog" that offers detailed news and information on multiple martial arts, including those offered at the private academy Hargrave Martial Arts. He was passionate of martial arts ever since he was a child and it meant to him more than a hobby. It was a full time job that took over his life. He began his career in the martial arts at the Oklahoma Karate Academy as an assistant instructor, and is now a triple Grandmaster and currently holds seven black belt rankings.

Carter Hargrave is the head instructor and president of the World Jeet Kune Do Foundation and the World Kempo Association. Besides these, he also owns Hargrave Martial Arts System, Hargrave Arts LLC, Hargrave Media and Combat Martial Arts Press. All this companies help him follow his dream of spreading the teaching of martial arts and self defense throughout the world.

Early in his career, while still in Tulsa where he was teaching Tae Kwon Do and Kuk Sool, a form of Korean Ju Jitsu, he had the opportunity to meet a student of the Bruce Lee School in California. He then realized that he wasn't satisfied with what he had achieved so far and accepted the student's offer to train in the new style and to become an instructor. He started training in various styles for the next couple of years. He remembers that period as being the hardest in his life, but he doesn't regret it at all. His passion for martial arts fueled him with energy in order to accomplish everything he desired.

In the early 1992, the art of Jeet Kun Do was nothing like it as it should have been. It was promoted very badly because the instructors weren't getting along due to political issues. Since there was no governing body to put an end to this chaos, this form of martial arts was almost entirely neglected. Carter Hargrave decided then to do something that was never attempted befo re. In 1992 he founded the World Jeet Kune Do Federation. This stayed away from the political problems of the time and followed the purpose in which it was created. Its main goal was to bring teachers and students together in order to spread the teachings of Bruce Lee. Carter considers these teachings as life changing and feels that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about them. No one ever attempted before him to bring Jeet Kune Do to the masses. Not only that he tried, but he also succeeded in doing so.

In the same year, 1992, he also founded a new martial art style. He named it American Combat Kempo. Many schools all over the world now recognize this and the US marines are using some of its techniques. In what concerns the style, Carter Hargrave has the title of Grandmaster. He is also Grandmaster in Kun Fu and Ju Jitsu. This new style was born because at the time Carter was training in four styles and was also experiencing others. Keeping them separately turn out to be difficult, but he managed to meet the expectations of his teachers from back them. He then noticed that people were interested in self-defense and in learning self-defense skills in order to protect themselves at work, at school and even on the street.

Their needs remained unsatisfied because no school was teaching this kind of stuff at the moment. Carter Hargrave saw the opportunity and created this new style by modifying two existing martial arts systems. He also included weapon fighting and adapted the techniques to real world situations. Besides traditional Okinawan weapons, like sai, bo, tonfa or katana, he also introduced modern firearms. He thinks that if you are not superior to you attacker, you don't stand a chance and he considers that superiority needs to be achieved by all means whether they are fair or unfair. The original arts that stand at the base of American Combat Kempo are not recognizable anymore, after Hargrave modified them. It was n't simply a matter of combining styles it also involved creativity. World Kempo Association is currently promoting the principles of this new style worldwide. Hargrave is its president and head instructor. As well as his other organizations, this one is also staying away from the political area.

In order to spread his knowledge to all those interested in it, Carter Hargrave also wrote three books on martial arts. "The Original Jeet Kune Do Training", which was an international best seller. It is the first Jeet Kune Do manual released on the market and photos for a better understanding of the information presented also accompany it. The other two books are "Japanese Kempo Karate Manual" in which the author tackles the American Combat Kempo system and "Japanese Kempo Karate Entrance to Secrets Manual", for those interested in advanced training.

Carter Hargrave's achievements were recognized worldwide. In 1995 he received the Instructor of the Year award. He was th e youngest person to be promoted to Professor of martial arts at age 33. In 1995 he was appointed Executive Director World Martial Arts Hall of Fame Board Member. The same year he was also appointed Director United Kung Fu Federation of North America. One year later, in 1996, he received the award for Best Martial Arts School in the United States. The US Congress and the United States Senate recognized his achievements.
