The Founding of Tesoro Metal Detectors

Tesoro's history began with a man called Jack Gifford who moved from retail into electronics at the start of the 60"s. Through hard work and constantly learning more about electronics he soon became an expert in this field. His first venture into management was as a founding partner and consultant engineer of phoenix data which took on a range of jobs for different companies including Motorola designing and building electronic systems. For several years Jack worked at phoenix until in 1975 he left after being offered a job designing metal detectors for a company called bounty hunter.

Jack only stayed at bounty hunter for one year in which he designed the TR500 which became a top seller for bounty hunter and learned all he needed to start a business of his own. But unfortunately he went into a partnership with another worker at bounty hunter called Ray Crum who after two years he could no longer work with. During those two years Jack learned a lot more about building metal detectors and also had his wife and brother working at the company which was called C&G. The bobcat, wildcat and lynx were detectors that he designed during these two years and got him an excellent reputation as a top designer.

Because of Jack's now solid reputation as soon as he announced that he was leaving the president of Fisher detectors Ed Lewis immediately snapped him up a designer. He worked at fisher research in California on upgrading existing detectors and on location equipment for underground pipes and cables. In 1979 after only one year at fisher the new owner of bounty hunter Ray Smith made him an offer that Jack accepted and he returned again to the bounty hunter factory. This time round Jack designed the rustler and raider models and also upgraded the red baron series of detectors. Here he met Rusty Henry who became a very good friend and the two often went metal detecting together testing the developments that they were working on. Sadly Ray was diagnosed as having cancer and the company was sold with neither Jack or Rusty wanting to work for the new owners. Rusty took off to the Australian gold fields to search for a fortune hoping his experience of metal detecting would see him through.

Jack now founded his own metal detecting business which he called Tesoro and employed his wife and together they built Tesoro into a company that could match the already established companies. The name Tesoro was chosen as it means treasure in Spanish and the Spanish were famous as being treasure seekers through the ages. Through constantly improving the technology and concentrating on keeping the detectors simple , light and very sensitive Tesoro quickly acquired a good reputation with treasure hunters. His sons joined the company after getting experience in retail industries first and brought this knowledge into the company. Rusty Jack's friend was found driving a school bus and was asked to come and work for the company which he did as the service manager.

Impact of economic downsizing on gaming industries

The current recession has put forward many questions over the gaming industries and how the gamers have responded. Gamers are involving themselves more in playing free online games and buying used games. This trend has affected the game sales at large. Along with the economic downsizing, lack of blockbuster title releases also encouraged gamers to play free games and buy used games rather than new ones.

The entertainment industry, more specifically the gaming industry has undergone noticeable changes due to the current economic downsizing. Individuals are focusing on extracting more fun out of free online games-games being a much cheaper and affordable form of entertainment. Consumers are engaging more to play free games which illustrate their desire to get more value out of games. There are great possibilities for gaming industries in the near future owing to the fact that the number of individuals interested in playing games is increasing everyday.

Statistically the gamers have purchased more used game than the new ones over the last couple of years. The consequent advancement of internet has also opened up opportunities for gamers to play free games even more. Alongside buying used games, the internet also provide opportunities for subscription to game rental services by mails. The study of game-play and acquisition to free online games reveals that the gamers have become more value conscious spending time playing. The number of individuals adopting game rental subscriptions and buying used games have increased manifold.

Consumers are giving more attention to gaming compared to any other entertainment choices like watching movies, going to theatres, buying DVDs. Though there is no such illustrative data available regarding the timeframe or the exact attendance, but it can be claimed without any anomalies that the number of consumers selecting games as a mode of entertainment have largely increased. Alongside DVD purchasing and movie-going, playing both paid as well as free online games is also getting increased attention. Gamers are able to sit back at home and spend long hours playing free online games.

The History Of Hip Hop Clothing

Clothing is an important factor of who we are. That is why urban clothing has become such a popular trend of the latest couple of years. So what is Urban Clothing.

Urban clothing actually has it roots back in the 1980's, with the emergence of hip hop. This streetwear was actually made up of established sports brands such as Lecoste, Fila, Kangol and Adidas to name a few.

Also with the emergence of hiphop there was also the introduction of break dancing. Because most of the moves originated from the street, the clothing had to be comfortable, and show a bit about who you were. Most breakdances would wear tracksuits and sweatbands with a brand name of tennis shoe.

Hip hop clothing also showed your prestige and wealth. With most rappers such as Big Daddy Kane and LL Cool J, wearing expensive heavy jewelery such as heavy gold rope chains, and even gold teeth. Bomber jackets were another essential hip hop clothing item.

As time progressed in the eighties the style changed to a more urban fashion. Young people would wear car badges across there necks, often stolen from an unknowing motorists vehicle. These includes Mercedes and VW badges. Instead of Kangols, baseball caps became the norm often associated to the area you lived in. Out went the bomber jackets and in came the hooded sweatshirts. These were often used as a way of hiding your identity whilst tagging a wall or train carriage. Tagging like Graffiti allowed the artist to import his own unique style to an area, often to the upset of officials and the police. To combat this specific areas were opened up to allow taggers to legally use, however, the idea of it being illegal and getting caught was often the thrill behind the tag.

Moving into present times, and clothing has taken on a new meaning. Instead of urban clothes being about prestige or wealth its all about attitude. This was brought into place with gangsta rappers such as Tupac Shakur, Kayne West and Biggy smalls. The clothing is now about street, attitude and showing what your made of. Urban Hoodies are still in but the hoods are often up to protect the identity, often worn over the top of a baseball cap.

Although hip hop fashions have changed, the meaning behind them hasn't. Showing who you are and what you are about has always been the way with the urban hip hop culture and always will.

Tips For Choosing The Best Cycling Clothing

It is no wonder that the writer Irish Murdoch said: "The bicycle is the most civilized conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart." Bearing in mind that this quote comes from 1965 imagine what she would have said if she was writing today! The spirit of cycling is marvellous and nowadays there is a great range of cycling clothing to enhance the experience for enthusiasts.

For when the weather is not so pleasant, and let's face it in the UK we are not blessed with a Mediterranean climate, it is best to dress yourself in a cycling jacket or a wool cycling jersey. This will keep you warm against the chilly air. However it is raining or there is rain expected then put on a windproof cycling jacket which will protect against both the rain and the wind. Match these up with some cycling pants, and some knee warmers or leg warmers. For rainy conditions you will also want to wear some waterproof gloves. There are also waterproof over-trousers that you can buy. Try to find ones that are adjustable with zip pockets and ankle gussets.

Buying cycling clothing regardless of the weather you will have comfort on your mind. The type of gear you choose may need to be influenced also by the type of cycling you are planning to do. For safety you will need a cycling helmet and reflective clothing depending on the circumstances. The helmet needs to be quality and fit correctly.

When the weather becomes warmer you will start wearing cycling shorts and sleeveless shirt such as the Endura cycling pro sleeveless shirt. This has stretch underarm panels to improve freedom of movement and is made of fabrics which give excellent fast-drying performance as well as easy care washing.

When choosing cycling shorts consider yourself lucky as back in the 1900s these were made of wool and offered very little flexibility. Nowadays with the advances in fabric technology there are lots of highly flexible and durable fabrics out of which cycling shorts are manufactured. Cycling shorts will be fitted with panels and depending on the design will vary in comfort. In general the more panels the better. Some cycling shorts are more lightweight depending on the fabric combination while some will include rubber leg grippers.

There are also baggy cycling shorts available. It is best to look for the ones with adjustability and easy care fabric. Some are hard wearing, water resistant and may have leg vents. Check for a smooth underside to avoid snagging or pressure points. See if they also have durable double or triple stitching on the seams. Short sleeve jerseys are also suitable for the better weather. Look out for low odour fabrics which should also be highly breathable. When choosing one check for a snug fit cuff and collar.

As an avid cyclist whatever the weather you want to be able to go out cycling when you have the time. Choosing the best selection of quality cycling clothes will let you enjoy your hobby whenever you wish.

Maintenance of Pool Cues

After long usage, a pool cue too like any other sporting equipment tends to lose its shape and smoothness. Tips become scattered, shafts lose the smoothness and feel. The shine is lost and fingerprints are permanently etched on them. Some parts like butts may become loose and even fall off.

It is absolutely necessary to maintain the shape of the tip and even the roughness so that it holds enough chalk. So the mushrooming of the tip has to be evened out by trimming off the excess flattened leather. Thereafter it can be reshaped by sandpaper or a specially designed tool for this purpose in any preferred shape.

Finally even rougher sandpaper needs to be used to roughen the surface so that it holds chalk. If this exercise is repeated too often the tip size would reduce. So it should only be done before important games or when the tip starts showing visible signs of degenerating.

The Ferrule too develops blue rings over time (since the chalk used is blue). Many people chalk their cues too hard, it is not wrong to chalk cues but if the chalk is not replaced on time this ring develops around the ferrule.

Using chalk heavily also stains the shaft .One needs to use a damp cloth first to wipe the shaft and then use a dry one. In case the stains have not been taken care of in a long time, very fine sandpaper needs to be used.

The cue joint too may get spoilt, due to moisture, especially if it's not sealed well. To solve this problem a joint protector can be used to cover the joints.

The butt does not require too much of care. Wiping occasionally first with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth should be enough. A little bit of oil from time to time softens it. Butts start rattling if there is a construction problem but it does not really affect the game so can be overlooked.

Certain very basic guidelines need to be followed for the long life of a cue. For instance a cue stick should not be kept on its tip leaning against anything. Also temperature fluctuations have a negative impact on cues so they should ideally be stored in a place where the temperature does not fluctuate much. Moreover while cleaning cues the sandpaper has to be selected carefully to prevent further damage.

The World's Most Popular Hunting Dogs

Have you ever wondered which dog breeds are the most popular in hunting activities? This article will briefly present the most popular hunting dogs used by millions of hunters from all corners of the world. Several breeds of hunting dogs are collectively called hound dogs. The reason why these dogs are used for hunting is that they are strong, very fast, top-notch eyesights and a very developed sense of smell. These dogs assist their owners by tracking or chasing the prey being hunted. For this reason, hunting dogs are divided into two types, as follows:

Sight Hounds - intelligent dogs also known as gaze hounds. They are very good runners and have the capability to catch and kill prey like haves, deer, gazelles and others. A very good example of a sight hound is the Whippet dog, which was developed back in the 19th century by mixing the Grey Hound, Italian Grey Hound and the Terrier. These dogs are quite active and playful but quite hardy. They are known to be very good racers and sometimes when they are chasing their pray, they can reach speeds up to 60 km/h. They look quite similar with the Grey Hound - elegant look with a long and slender muzzle, rose shaped ears, a deep chest and a pointed tail.

Scent Hounds - they are not the best runners but they do have the best sense of smell. Some very good examples of scent hounds would be the Blood Hounds and the Basset Hounds. The first ones are quite large and are often used by police and other security personal for tracing the missing persons or escaped prisoners. The Basset Hounds are short-legged dogs that were specially developed for hunting animals like rabbits. Their sense of smell tracing is second only to that of Blood Hound.

The German Short-Haired Pointer is one of the few dog breeds that can work in water and rough terrains alike. This is a very versatile gun dog that can be used as a pointer, upland dog, water dog or a retriever. The dog is capable of chasing & killing even the most large and dangerous animals. The dog can be easily trained but it needs plenty of vigorous activities for its physical fitness. The Poodle is an athletic and agile dog, very popular for its water abilities. Hunters usually use them as water retrievers to fetch waterfowl out of water.

The Feists are small-sized hunting dogs that were developed in the rural Southern USA. Unlike hounds they act silently; they are used to chase small preys. The Lakeland Terrier is a very intelligent hunting dog, quite confident as well as bold that was developed in the Lake District of Cumberland, England. The dog was exclusively created for eliminating foxes, which attacked (and killed) the lambs, raiding farmer's seep fold.

All in all, these are only just a couple of the most popular hunting dogs in the world. Each one of them was developed for excelling in various hunting activities. Depending on which type of hunting you prefer, the choice is up to you and luckily, the options are quite generous.

Summary: This article briefly reviews some of the most popular hunting dogs in the world.

Bingo UK. Are you in on the action? A brief overview of how UK bingo has changed.

Over the years, bingo has been subject to many hardships, from the French Revolution to the Second World War but against all odds this simple game has always bounced back and become stronger. Since its arrival to the United Kingdom in the early 20th century, <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title=" bingo UK" target="_blank">Bingo UK</a> has grown to be one of the most lucrative businesses and has set the standard for all other forms of gambling both online and offline.

When bingo first surfaced in the UK it was still at a young stage, bingo halls were furnished from abandoned theatres and cinemas. Over the years <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> grew in popularity and new halls were built with the sole purpose of bringing bingo to the masses. By the mid 1980's bingo had spanned across the UK, filling halls from the hi ghlands of Scotland to the most southern towns of Britain. Bingo took another massive leap in the late 1990's when some of the first online bingo sites were created, with this new technology at its fingertips, <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> developed a more powerful way to reach its clientele.

<a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title=" bingo UK" target="_blank">Bingo UK</a> was granted its 'big break' in 2005 when the gaming regulations act changed its policies regarding the advertising of gambling. With the new regulations in place bingo was free to advertise across the internet, this created a massive influx of new players and allowed the online bingo business to grow. In 2007, online gambling was granted the rights to advertise across all media. With laws now allowing online bingo to create new, extravagant and attractive advertisements the number of < a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> players dramatically increased.

<a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> has been affected by many difficulties over the years; one of the most recent examples is the smoking ban that was enforced on the 1st of July 2007. This ban stated that smoking in public places was to be made illegal; this law greatly affected the number of people who came to <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> halls and consequentially many bingo halls were shut down. The smoking ban had an opposite affect on the online community; the number of online bingo players grew dramatically and shaped the future of bingo.

Bingo suffered another devastating blow in September 2008 when Britain was plunged into recession. W ith money getting tight all over the country the bingo business saw a record downfall of players. Online <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title=" bingo UK" target="_blank">Bingo UK</a> operators have been fighting the recession with the use of TV campaigns, online advertisements and adding more 'value for money' into their games. The recession has slowly loosened its grip on the <a href="http://www.i-love-bingo.co.uk" title="UK bingo" target="_blank">UK Bingo</a> market; the bingo business is quickly recovering and is once again becoming one of the Nations favourite 'money makers'.
