Musto Equestrian Clothing: Equestrians Keep Riding Despite the Recession

Over 60 per cent of horse riders have said that the recession has had little effect of their equestrian habits.

That's according to research by the performance clothing brand Musto, which surveyed a number of both professional and amateur horse riders and trainers.

The research found that around 40 per cent of riders surveyed spend between 10 and 20 hours per week with their horse(s), with 87 per cent of participants owning at least one horse of their own. Although a few participants said they had had to cut down slightly on bedding and accessories for their horses, overall the recent economic downturn has had very little effect on the typical equestrian's lifestyle.

50 per cent of participants in the survey said they had been horse riding regularly for over ten years, and 73 per cent compete regularly in various equestrian competitions, including show jumping, eventing and dressage.

When competing in such events it is important to have the right equipment, both for the rider and the horse. When asked about their favourite equestrian equipment brand, one in ten participants named Musto as their preferred choice for equestrian clothing and accessories.
