Paul Rooney Partnership Sponsors Michael Holt in Snooker World Championships

The Snooker World Championships get underway at the Crucible in Sheffield this weekend and Liverpool solicitors, the Paul Rooney Partnership, will have a more vested interest in the tournament than most.

The Paul Rooney Partnership is pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring Nottingham snooker player Michael "The Hitman" Holt during the championships.

The 31-year-old began his professional career in 1996, and is considered one of the more charismatic players on the snooker circuit, having earned his nickname when he punched a snooker table in anger, breaking a knuckle in the process.

Holt, who is currently ranked 24th in the world snooker rankings, made his Crucible debut in 2005 with a first round match against the late Paul Hunter. He has reached the quarter-finals of four ranking events in his career, and was labelled the most consistent performer in snooker last season, winning his opening match in all eight ranking events.

Michael Holt will begin his 2010 World Snooker Championships tournament with his first round match against the world #12 Joe Perry on Saturday (17th April).

The World Snooker Championships will be broadcast on BBC1, BBC2 and Eurosport, as well as the vast amount of online coverage from around the world.

Everyone here at the Paul Rooney Partnership wishes Michael Holt the best of luck during the tournament.
